Hi All,

One of my customer facing below problem, but no complain for system interuption. Tak sure apa yg problem, EIGRP seems up and down for all branches and HQ. Dah search kat cisco.com, but not so sure to troubleshoot. Minta tolong kawan2 bg pendapat apa makna error seperti dibawah... pls

Hi,

Log above could indicate that one of your routing has failed (best routing path-successor) and that is the purpose of using EIGRP as your Interior Gateway Routing Protocol.. sbb dia ada DUAL Algorithm (Diffusing Update Algorithm), bila successor gagal, 2nd best path (feasible successor) digunakan at the cost of little advertised & feasible distance, jadi bila 1 good routing gagal ko tak perasaan ada network failure ke tak, impact on performance siiikit jer... ko tengok kat stuck in active, router tu tengah cari 2nd best path... remember that EIGRP termasuk dalam kategori distance vector, routing loop selalu jer berlaku... tu lah common problem, another possible cause ialah dia punya neighbour, check interface kat neighbour kalau2 ada link yg flapping, type command sh interface untuk check. satu lagi ialah, pastikan IOS version sesama neighbour sama, kalau router 1 IOS version lama, pastu Router 2 IOS version baru, routing ko pun akan failed...

Aku dah check kat neighbor, semua nye guna IOS vers yg sama. Let say one of routing has failed
(best routing path-successor), mcm mn nak trace routing mana yg fail...sorry la kalo aku tanya soalan bodo..aku mmg dah pening dah ni...and one more thing, kat sh run utk check link yg flapping, apa command yg shows that link is flapping. Pls help and advise.

Nak cari jiran mana yg lingkup? Hehehe not an easy task man..kena troubleshoot 1 by 1… & aku pasti ko dah buat semua documentation tentang network ko, contoh router 1 autonomous system number berapa? Ip address apa? Rujuk documentation network ko & Diagram kat bawah just a guide..ikut steps ni


1) guna command show ip eigrp neighbors, pastikan semua neighbour dalam senarai,

jika Router B takde dalam senarai, then you consider to be lucky.. sebab ko dah tau memang router B ada problem, jadi tak payah buang masa, access Router B, show interface, pastikan interface resets , carrier transitions, input & output error tak banyak sangat, begitu juga physical layer, check kabel. another possible cause..router tu kehabisan resources spt RAM & Processor pun boleh menyebabkan problem ni gara2 traffic terlampau heavy or because of someone attacking your network…
Oklah, Bagaimana kalau router B or semua router tersenarai? Step kedua kat bawah

2) Refer show ip eigrp neighbors kat atas tu, lihat kat SRTT 0, RTO 6000, Q6 , 3 info ni ko dah tau memang router ni bermasalah, SRTT= Smooth round-trip time , RTO= Retransmission timeout, Q count = Jumlah EIGRP Packet menunggu untuk dihantar. Solution seperti kat step 1, kalau itu membabitkan WAN, then you have to contact your ISP sebab problem tu kat diaorang… 1 more thing, kalau stuck in active hold timer 3 minutes, so you have 3 minutes untuk show ip eigrp neighbors, otherwise you have to wait for another stuck in active to occur sebab problem ko ni intermittent kan...
Kalau masih sama jugak, we maybe continue to step 3... tapi... heharap masalah ko settle setakat ni...

Soryy la lama aku tak responce kat sini sebab aku sibuk sket.. skang ni dah kureng sket dia keluar STA tu sebab nyer hari tu HQ down terus je upgrade IOS baru, then skang ni dah pakai IOS baru STA tu ttp ade tp tak sebanyak mcm ari tu.... tp tips yg ko bg tu membantu sungguh..thanksss

kalau ada sikit2 tu takpe, tu routing loop.. glad to hear that
