Assalamualaikum
Electroboy is correct. The English pronunciation for Kaspersky is Casper-skee. It is also flattering to pronounce Kaspersky in its native pronunciation like what you hear in that audio file (Kaas-piersh-kee OR Kaas-piers-kee) but to conventional speakers' ears, it could sound rather weird smile.gif
So, i'd say, go with Electroboy. Casperskee.

QUOTE
it has been claimed by many gamers that the origin of the word comes from the PC game Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, where a programming error results in the message "You have been pwned." When the player gets defeated by a CPU controlled opponent, the correct message should have been "You have been owned." This phrase would soon become an internet icon for online gamers across the globe.

Allowed is pronounced as allowed without the funny ~weddd on the tail (~ed is ok). And there is no such word or abbreviation as "pwned", so don't bother about how to pronounce it properly.

One more common mispronounced word - Archive is pronounced as ar-khai-ve, not ar-chee-ve. But you may pronounce the word achieve as ac-chee-ve

Scythe - Sai-Th or Sye

Izwan, perhaps you mean exaggerated = Eeck-zag-ger-rated
...and usher = Ush-Er

Hmmm
Dengan cara sebutan/ejaan Bahasa Malaysia ...

1. Pai-ni-ye ... huruf 'o' pada ejaan asal tidak dibunyikan.
2. Pa-ye-ni-ye ... dengan sukukata kedua dibunyikan dengan sayup.
3. Pa-yo-ni-ye ... dengan sukukata kedua dibunyikan dengan sayup

Similarly, with English sound pronouncing ...

1. Pie-near .. the letter 'o' in the original spelling is silenced.
2. Pie-year-near .. with 'year' softened; not stressed.
3. Pie-yaw-near .. with 'yaw' softened; not stressed.

Cachet is pronounced as 'ka-shey' but Cache is cache (Ka-Sh, rhyme with "cash"). Hmm my friend once recommended me a dictionary software... "advanced cambridge dictionary" or something...I've tested it on his PC. I believe that it is the best tool for any of us to learn and hear the correct pronunciation of most words in the english dictionary, both in English and American accent. Plus I just figured out that Answers.com also provides similar tool for pronunciation, maybe you should try it =)

Assalamualaikum

Benar 'route' ialah perkataan asal Bahasa Perancis. Ia disebut rut; mengikut sebutan hampir asal perancisnya, dan raut; mengikut gaya Bahasa Inggeris umum. 'Router' secara khususnya disebut rau-ter terutama sekali jika merujuk kepada alatan komunikasi tertentu.

EDIT: Its one of those days when you wake up and forget lots of things including rules and order. And by rule, i should have written in English up there shouldnt i ? My mistake. Here is a full English translation .. though it sounds much like what Electroboy have written down here anyway.

True, "route" is a word of French origin. It is pronounced as root; close to its original sound in French, and raowt; following the common English sound. "Router" is specifically pronounced as raow-ter, especially when it refers to a certain communication device.

Good question! Yup route is origin of french (askoxford.com). And router have two different meaning:
http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=router&gwp=13

But don't be confused with the answers.com pronunciation! . Router for router (computer science) is pronounced as Rau-ter.
