I have read Kosmo recently and found an article about Sex Education. But I didn't read it because I'm on a fast free reading at book store laugh.gif . according to wikipedia..Sex education is a broad term used to describe education about human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, and other aspects of human sexual behavior. So what is your opinion about this ? is it a need for students or not?

Sex and the young..that's a 'world cry' nowadays even in our country itself..
Lack of sex education leads to 'experiment', I mean teens are tend to do and interested in new things..
I really had my mind set that Sex Education should be available in school..However until now sex education is unheard. Although the idea of bringing it up fad been bandied around for several yeaars. Talk of sex education has intensified, especially when Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) had carried out a study which they found that all of the 887 troubled teenage girls, except for one (only), had ad sexual encounters..OH my God..we almost cant believe it..
wether the findings are accurate enough or not, it serves to drive home the point that we can no longer afford to delay sex education in schools only, and just not for secondary students, but it should start even before children reached their puberty...

then, the education should also available at home, by means, parents should have 'the talk' before kids hit puberty..wether u are embarrassed or not, it is the best time..mother and father are the key people, they can pick up a topic on it and and have a discussion with thir kids...The kids must know how to say 'no' how to handle peer pressure and how to negotiate if they are being pressured or harrased into doing something like sex or drugs, or any other sensitive things in life...Parents should be aware of their kids' social lifestyle and outgoing nature..the authorities are fearful that kids will start experimenting once they are given the information, but sex education is about making informed sexual decisions and developing healthy sexual relationships..

But the thing is people should not 'damn' the young people of this nation but instead love and guide them..let them know the rights and wrongs or the Dos and Don'ts ...

well i think its really a hit there in western world .. i mean overally the system seems work fine. sadly not all of eastern can accept such education .. maybe because eastern are mostly moderate nation or so called developing country. Still can't talk about this topic openly, just like taboo.. for most country, most Asian country. These country need time to assimilate or "suited" with this topic.

and what they know now is what good for them.

Totally agree......students should be filled with sex knowledge.....i also totally agree with iman is the best way...BUT, observed by nowaday condition, most teenager (no offence) lack practising religious elements in daily life( this is another case)...i think it aint work to the majority........it is not teaching them "how to", but the science of it, the consequences, how to overcome it (physically and mentally)....just my cheap points....

Hahahaha. I’ve expected that this will happen when the starter starts this topic. Actually sex education recommended by the ministry of education is not a lesson of learning how to do sex or any bad elements that might corrupt student’s morals but to educate students on how will the unhealthy sexual relations might harm themselves in particular and the community in general. You might be unaware that you yourself have been learnt about sex education without purpose when you are learning certain subjects in school previously. For example, in Science subject which is taught to Form 3 students has the element of sex education in the chapter of reproduction. The chapter consists about both male and female pudenda which is human sex organ and menstruation cycle experienced by females. Don’t say that you never learn about this because this is a compulsory subject when you are in lower secondary school. It is undeniable students especially females get ashamed to learn while the boys seemed to be so interested in this topic But they just eager to explore this topic on the beginning only and become used to it gradually after several learning sessions especially for students who continues it upper secondary school education in the science stream as they learned about this topic in details when Form 5. At the end of the topic there is subtopic which centring the essential of human values in nurturing one’s lineage. Sex education also has been taught in P.E subject since Form 1 to Form 5. There are chapters about puberty, marriage, AIDS, HIV and the acts related to sex abusement. All of these were taught since students still young to enable them to differentiate between the right and the wrong and the consequences if they use it in the wrong manner......

there's nothing wrong with our steady education system anyway.. it is all about how people think and how people treat it...
yup, i agree with you, it all depends on how it's been planned and worked...

fully agree with you..but the only problem is not all children reaches an education level as high as form 5...
so everything will be right back to the basic learning..which is home..parents are needed here to communicate with their kids on this topic...

Whoa...Nothing wrong with your arguments, but it would really help the readers A LOT if you can arrange your sentences into paragraphs. But you brought up good points. Unlike some [sarcasm]geniuses who contributed[/sarcasm] in here.

And there's no such word as the bold ones. Firefox 5.0 detects. Not me. I just bold. tongue.gif

On topic,

I think sex-ed is necessary acceptable. It's not teaching techniques or whatever; it's just an elaboration of what we learned in Form 3. It could also mention what harm it can do to a girl if they got pregnant at an early age, and how boys should really understand the responsibility before they begin shooting.

Also, with Moral-ed and Pendidikan Islam being taught in school, I think this country will provide a more comprehensive understanding to the students and contributes toward the betterment of youths' moral compared to the Western Countries.
