First and foremost, what exactly isyour 'Kasturi' referring to?
Is it the 'Limau Kasturi'
or
Is it 'Kasturi' from the 'seharum 'Kasturi'' phrase?
If 'Limau Kasturi', the word "Lime' basically fits the most.
But if it's the latter 'Kasturi', then the word you're looking for is 'Musk'.
As in 'White Musk' from Body Shop Perfumes Line.
'Kasturi/Musk' is basically a sweet scented oil harvested from a certain animal part.
I think it's from a certain type of deer.
Umm..
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Hope this helps

hehe huh?

i've found that word recently... but forget most of the time... hurm,

Excuse me.
Slumber is an English word, means Sleep. Not related to 'selamba'. =)

Maybe,
Selamba:
. Feeling-less. (no idea what is the correct word haha)
. Rude. (according to DBP, 'selamba' in Malay also means 'kurang ajar')
. Relax.
BudakZonM
haha i'm sorry,
just for chill out,

Relax??
it's more then that i think,

Like example, if we change malay to english,

'Dia memukul lelaki itu dengan selamba'

'He smack that guy with relaxing' Huh? huh.gif

sound funny
al-Qusyairi
Oh, it depends on situation.

Relax:
"Jangan takut, buat selamba je dengan dia"
"Don't afraid, just relax with him" (oh no, sorry for my poor english grammar).

Rude:
"Padan muka kau, selamba sangat dengan orang tua tu."
"That suite you, you were so rude with that old man."
Sultan ultimatezezs-SE
For more, that word has using for emphasis situation depand intead of tense used..
P Untuk Pendeta
selamba = carefree.

Dia seorang yang selamba = He is a carefree person.

In the year of 2003, the government's tv cable- RTM1 changed its channel's theme onto "Saluran Infortainment Anda" (which has been adapted from English words: Your Infotainment Channel), however this has been issued by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) where the comittee claimed that the word infortainment had spoilt the usage of Bahasa Melayu. Reason ?? ---> it's quite discordant to the ear compared to other Bahasa Melayu words..

I'm sorry to barge in like this. But i truly believe that the best translation for "limau kasturi" would be calamansi and I believe lime would best fit "limau nipis"

As for musk, the right spelling in Malay would be "kesturi"

Thousand apologies and thank you. blush.gif

what is 'kedekut' and 'manja' in english?
Batista
kedekut - thingy
manja - forgot tongue.gif

btw i heard lot of "LAME" words in internet..does it same with idiot words?

any1 know what is "PROLLY" mean....but i guess it got same meaning with prefer...
aMer
kedekut - adj. stingy
manja - verb. spoil(memanjakan), adj. pempered/spoiled (eg spoiled/pempered kid = anak manja)
prolly = probably (us internet slang)
abedahmatusin
Kedekut = Stingy
Manja = Pampered / Spoiled

But notice that "manja" has different usage in different situation and reference. The positive manja and the negative manja. For instance;

Walaupun sudah dewasa, Jemiliah masih lagi menangis teresak-esak jika dimarahi. Manja sungguh.
Even as an adult, Jemiliah still cries a river when scolded. What a spoiled person.

Emilia kelihatan sungguh comel dan manja didalam gambar tadika itu.
Emilia looks adorable and sweet in that kindergarden photograph.

"Jelas sekali, Paris Hilton adalah seorang yang dimanjakan", kata Dr. Phil.
"Paris Hilton is obviously a pampered individual", says Dr. Phil.

So "sweet" can also mean "manja" when it refers to a certain sort of people, especially children.

Lame if were to be translated into Bahasa Malaysia, would rather mean "teruk", because lame isnt really specific in reference and usage. Its a general negative description of anything bad socially and psychologically (not in the case of physical injury, medical and political situation).

like these...
The group fight at the cafetaria is a lame incident.
The food at the canteen is lame.
Marc is so lame; he hit a lady and didnt even apologize.
This is such a lame hotel; no room service.

not these...
The situation in Iraq is lame.
He had a heart attack this morning and now he is in a lame condition.
He broke his leg and he is lame.

Idiot is a version of stupid and it means "bodoh". However, idiot refers to rather slapdash and slapstic side of a person than it does to the intelligence.

Prolly is the short for probably and is used a lot in internet chats and text messaging these days although it may have been around since 1992 B.C (Before Cellphones, you oaf!).

English has only "you" for all occasions unlike the beautiful and regal Bahasa Melayu. Though sometimes in classic English texts (read: old and ancient = eewww!!) one would find pronouns like thou, thee, sie, se ...which are all old words from germanic and latin origin. English, by the way, is a germanic language....which..who cares anyway right ??? tongue.gif
