Canon recognized as preferred brand for the 9th year

Canon Marketing Malaysia was recognized as the preferred consumer brand for its imaging equipment for the ninth consecutive year by the prestigious Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award.

The award which started in 1999 saw named Canon as Asia’s 2007 Platinum brand for Office Equipment (multifunction copier) and Gold for its printer/ scanner products.

In Malaysia, Canon was conferred Platinum for its Office Equipment (multifunction copier) and digital range of camera/ digital cameras as well as Gold for its printer/scanner products.

“We are overjoyed to receive this prestigious award. It is a reflection of consumers’ recognition of our passion in delivering quality innovative products,” said Richard Yeow, Senior Director, Canon’s Corporate Strategic Communication Division.

“By keeping a tab on consumer needs, we promise to deliver cutting edge products and hope to continue this winning streak next year which will be a feather in our cap as we aim to be acknowledged as the top brand for these product categories for ten years running.”

The annual Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award is determined from 7,000 responses from questionnaires and telephone interviews across seven Asian markets that such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

It is based on the six core qualities; trustworthiness, credibility of image, quality, value, how well each brand understands consumers’ needs, and its ability to innovate.

Canon’s scores this year doubled those of its nearest rivals.

Other awards received by Canon this year include the prestigious Brand Laureate Award, based on a set of criteria which includes brand strategy, culture, communications, equity and performance.
