HP announced successful customer deployments of its Adaptive Infrastructure offerings in Asia Pacific and Japan.

HP helps customers across diverse industries reduce costs, mitigate risk and accelerate growth by evolving their IT environments to next-generation data centers – optimizing their IT infrastructures, simplifying management and improving automation of IT service delivery.

“Our priority is to provide quality, integrated services to our customers. We therefore need servers that allow us to deliver reliability, high performance and top quality management,” said Khun Saipin Kittipornpimol, executive vice-president, Information Technology Group, TMB Bank Public Co. Ltd. “HP’s IT consolidation solution with HP BladeSystem server blades significantly reduced rack space, staff hours and operational and cable installation cost by 50 percent, while improving utilization and performance.”

The following organizations from Asia Pacific and Japan have benefited from HP Adaptive Infrastructure solutions:

TMB Bank Public Company Limited
Among the top five Thai commercial banks, TMB strengthened its IT infrastructure with HP BladeSystem server blades supported by software including HP Systems Insight Manager, HP ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack, HP Integrated Lights-Out and HP Services. HP’s solutions consolidated the IT infrastructure, streamlined management and enabled virtualization capabilities. The resulting business benefits included: reducing space usage by 75 percent, lowering wiring and operational costs by 50 percent, and increasing IT utilization rate for enhanced employee productivity and greater business agility.

Bank of India
One of the fastest growing financial institutions in India, Bank of India consolidated and centralized its IT resources by implementing a data center and a disaster recovery center. Two HP Integrity Superdome servers, HP StorageWorks XP12000 and Enterprise Virtual Arrays, and HP Data Protector software helped the bank achieve enhanced data processing capacities and simplified data management. The bank has lowered total cost of ownership and improved scalability to adopt new technology and upgrade services for its customers.

RaceO International Limited
An internet gaming company, RaceO opted for HP Integrity servers, HP StorageWorks 3000 Enterprise Virtual Array, HP BladeSystem and HP Software to implement a highly secure IT environment, remote management, 24x7 infrastructure and database for its high volume transactions. HP, working with Olympic Software, delivered a high availability system, storage and management platform that handles 20 million settlements in 63 seconds, operates continuously with no downtime and no lost transactions, and can scale from thousands to potentially millions of customers.

Shanghai University
Shanghai University, one of the leading institutions of higher learning in China, centralized its information systems with HP Integrity Superdome and HP ProLiant servers, HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array and VLS Tape Library. HP Adaptive Infrastructure offerings provided the university with a scalable IT system, virtualized environment and simplified management control of its IT resources. The centralized environment helps the university to share data across campuses and offers the flexibility to fuel future developments.

Yantian International Containers Terminal
One of the fastest growing container companies in China, Yantian International Containers Terminal implemented HP 9000 servers running HP-UX operating system, HP 9000 storage servers and HP Services to manage business growth and remain competitive in the container industry. HP’s IT systems and services helped lower costs by enhancing operational efficiency and mitigated risks with 24/7 availability, continuity and improved disaster tolerance.

New Adaptive Infrastructure Capabilities

HP’s recent innovations, announced in April 2007, include HP Adaptive Infrastructure Maturity Model (AIMM), which enables companies to assess where their data centers are today and to frame a step-by-step roadmap for how best to reach their desired “future state,” making the best IT investments to optimize business outcomes.
In addition, HP introduced the new reference architecture and ready-to-deploy offerings that help customers simplify deployment of the latest releases of Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007, Oracle® and SAP®. These integrated HP and partner offerings are pre-tested and combine the hardware, software and services components needed for cost-effective, expedient implementations that reduce risk.

Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Center

To further demonstrate its capabilities with Asia-Pacific and Japan customers, HP has identified seven key locations across the region to set up Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Centers (AIDC). AIDCs help customers experience in real time the potential benefits of a next-generation data center environment.
These centers are located in Japan, Korea, China and Singapore. Customers have the opportunity to attend workshops and understand HP’s technology innovations in power and cooling, virtualization, management and automation. HP plans to introduce new centers in Australia and Taiwan by end of July 2007.
