Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing Placed in Top Quadrant

Print    Email

Oracle announced that Oracle® Utilities Customer Care and Billing solution has been placed in the top quadrant in an evaluation of leading customer information systems for Tier 1 utilities conducted by Energy Insights, an IDC company. The Energy Insights Industry Short List results are based on the principles of fact-based research, industry focus and evaluation transparency.

The report evaluated Oracle and three other CIS vendors identified as being “leaders in developing CISs for the utility industry.” It said the companies “offer scalable systems that can be used by utilities ranging from those with a small customer base and one commodity offering to very large utilities with multiple commodity offerings.”

The report continued, “The leaders have a strong presence in the North American market, and most have established business worldwide as well. Their systems cover the entire gamut of customer services for residential, commercial and industrial customers.” The companies were evaluated on the overall criteria of “ownership confidence” and “fit to market needs.”

Energy Insights placed Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing in the upper-right-hand quadrant of the table. The report noted, “Those IT suppliers that are best positioned are in the upper-right-hand quadrant, which represents a high fit to market needs and a high likelihood of a positive ownership experience.”

“Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing is the centerpiece of Oracle’s suite of utility solutions,” said Larry Hagewood, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit. “Oracle Utilities solutions provide unmatched flexibility and scalability for utilities of all sizes that are seeking to enhance customer service and increase efficiencies.”
