Nottingham’s Malaysia campus selects Blue Coat

Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the leader in secure content and application delivery, announced that The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus has selected Blue Coat® SG™ appliances to accelerate the delivery of applications and content across its Wide Area Network (WAN), from its main campus in Semenyih to its Teaching Center in Chulan Tower, Kuala Lumpur.

Prior to installing Blue Coat appliances, students experienced long waits to access centrally stored files. In addition, unauthorized Internet activity, including the use of peer-to-peer file sharing and streaming media consumed the network, and often made it unusable.

Blue Coat SG appliances accelerated the performance of the University’s applications by a minimum of 50 percent and improved remote file access time from minutes to seconds.
